Meet April Howell, LCSW, QS
You are more than the worst mistakes you have ever made.
Are you looking to increase confidence? Work on relationships? Find fulfillment?
You’re in the right place.
I’m here to help you find your own voice and strengths.
People come to me expressing symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, overwhelm, ambiguity of the future, life transitions, resentment, low self-esteem, mood swings, fear, you name it! The list goes on and on of what you may be experiencing and nothing is too big or too small for me to be able to sit with you. If you’re looking to untangle the root of your uncomfortable emotions, seek clarity, or just want to vent about all of life’s demands, LET'S CONNECT.
I have extensive experience working with:
active duty military and retired veterans
people living with personality disorders and/or suicidal ideations
having honest conversations about the load of motherhood
young adults navigating societal pressures
My style
With my guidance our sessions will consist of:
Identifying the source of the stressor(s) or crisis
Explore and clarify personal values and beliefs
Develop a sense of purpose
Foster acceptance of uncertainty
Improve emotional regulation
Promote personal growth
Overall, the goal of therapy with me is to help individuals or couples finding relief, meaning, and purpose in their lives, develop coping strategies for uncertainty and hardship, and use the stressor as an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery. Specific goals and therapeutic interventions used may vary depending on the individuals needs and circumstances.
